BLOCKBUSTER TRADE: Rim Reapers Send Wyatt Duncan to Bombers

June 19, 2025 — 3NA League Office

In one of the most unexpected turns of the 3NA season, the Rim Reapers traded star guard Wyatt Duncan, the league’s third-leading scorer (35.5 PPG), to the league-leading Bombers in exchange for defensive-minded wing Job Bond. But before Bond could even suit up in Reaper black, he announced he’d be stepping away from basketball — to raise polar bears in the Florida Everglades.

The trade, orchestrated by Reapers captain Carter Plymale and Bombers captain Badra, sent shockwaves through the league. Duncan, a pure scoring threat and proven closer, now joins Badra, the league’s top scorer (50.5 PPG), forming what many are already calling the most dangerous offensive duo in 3NA history.

Reapers Shift Direction, Eye the Future

The Reapers, now 1–4 in a tight 10-game regular season, appear to be entering tank mode with playoff hopes slipping. The short-lived acquisition of Bond, a respected perimeter defender and passer, was initially seen as a way to rebalance the Reapers' roster. However, Bond’s sudden departure for a more… wildlife-focused lifestyle left the Reapers with open cap space, which they used to finalize the signing of Rob Ert, better known around the league as Big Rob.

Big Rob isn’t expected to fill Duncan’s scoring void, but instead brings a defensive anchor and veteran presence the team has lacked. Reapers captain Carter Plymale commented:

“Wyatt gave us everything — he’s a bucket, no question. But with our current record, we’re pivoting. Rob brings elite rebounding, rim protection, and leadership. We’re building culture.”

Bombers Stack the Deck

Sitting atop the 3NA Power Rankings at 4–1, the Bombers were already elite. Now, with Wyatt Duncan in the fold, they’ve become terrifying. Coach Badra was candid:

“We’re not here to make friends. We’re here to win it all. Wyatt’s a killer — and now we’ve got two.”

The Bombers will now field a starting lineup with the #1 and #3 scorers in the league, a nightmare for any defense to gameplan for. Duncan’s ability to hit from deep, get to the rim, and create his own shot adds another dimension to an already dominant team.

The Fallout

  • Job Bond, who averaged modest numbers this season while contributing on defense and ball movement, is officially stepping away from the game. His love of polar bears and conservation work has taken priority, according to a joint statement with the league.

  • Big Rob (Rob Ert) joins the Reapers with hopes of stabilizing a struggling roster and helping the younger core develop.

  • Wyatt Duncan is now in title contention, and his first game with the Bombers could be a statement performance.
